Help Prevent Suicide and Depression. Preventing Suicide is hard when you don't know if someone is
depressed and if they could be a danger to themselves.
-
Look for the signs of Depression. Here are some
symptoms you may want to look out for: anxiety, lack of energy,
anger, suicidal thoughts or tendencies, isolation, and lack of intrest in activities.
-
Ask if the person is aware they might be suffering from depression. If
they say no, encourage them to go see someone. If they say yes, ask
them if they have talked to someone.
-
Ask them if they have been drinking too much or taking drugs as a way
too cope with what they might be feeling. People tend to do other
things that aren't good for them to hep them cope. This can be from
not eating a balanced diet, eating a lot of sweets, drinking to much,
taking drugs, it varies from person to person.
-
Try to get the person to talk about how they are feeling and why.
-
Be kind. Remember that people who suffer are more
likely to get angry or sad easily.
-
Beware of your surroundings:
Sometimes bad things happen to the best people.
Remember that if someone is going to (or about to) harm themselves
to call the authorities. Make sure you are aware of what is going on around you.
