Knowing about suicide isn’t the same as preventing suicide. Just because we know about it doesn't mean we help those around us.

Males are more likely to succeed in suicide. Females are more likely to attempt suicide. Males are more likely express their depression. Females are more likely to conceal their depression.

This is because Males tend to use lethal weapons, while Females attempt to use non-lethal weapons. Females attempt suicide more often than Males.

Approximately, 123 Americans every day die from suicide. Meaning about every 12 minutes, there's a death from suicide in the US.

An active cause of Suicide is Depression.

Studies show that both genders are generally good at acting as if nothing is wrong. Sometimes they might not even know there is something wrong. They tend to hide their thoughts.

A common phrase, "I'm fine", is a simple lead to someone suffering from depression. Either they know it and are trying to hide it or they don't know it.

How to tell if someone is depressed

Depression is different in everyone.

Some people are sad in the inside, but on the outside they look happy.
